SUNLIGHT: 10 BENEFITS FOR YOUR LIFE

Let's start with the principle that the sun is the best food that exists! It is because of the sun that there is life on earth and nature is not mistaken. Our ancestors, living outdoors and being in direct contact with the sun on a regular basis, benefited from this solar exposure in terms of vitamin D synthesis and other biological processes. Today it is not common to spend so much time out in the nature, as modern lifestyles and environments have changed significantly, with more time spent in enclosed places under artificial light and surrounded by equipment that generates electromagnetic frequencies. At the same time, when you have the opportunity to be outdoors, you do so, but not before putting on dark glasses and/or applying a product that blocks the sun's rays.

Why is it that despite protecting yourself from the sun and being selective with sunscreen products, your dermatologist may have had to remove suspicious moles on various parts of your body, you notice more and more white spots on your skin and you burn easily? There are two answers to this question:

  1. Due to a lack of progressive exposure to the sun

  2. Because of the type of diet, based on sugar and carbohydrates, processed food and the consumption of industrialized vegetable oils (canola, sunflower, corn).

More and more natural light has been replaced by artificial light, which is directly affecting the cells of your body in the production of cellular energy (ATP), in maintaining cellular hydration and in the creation of melatonin, a hormone essential for the synchronization of your biological clock. For example, here's a fact that shocked me: a bad light environment makes it impossible to burn body fat, no matter how much you are taking care of your diet and exercising. What does this mean? Simply that light plays a key role in your health equation. If you feel like you're stuck in the diet you're on, if you've been having headaches, fatigue, skin damage, low energy, hormonal problems, insomnia, etc. you probably need to start making changes to the light environment you're in. There are many ways to do this and I can guide you through the process.

Most of my life I hid from the sun, I applied sunscreens of all prices and brands, besides always securing a good pair of glasses, and only until now, from my training as a Health Coach in Modern Nutrition, I have learned that what I was doing was going against what nature is offering me. I was ignoring it because of a fear-based belief. That is why I have decided to reconcile myself with the sun, to see it as an ally for my overall health and to act proactively based on what scientific evidence offers about its benefits.

The light environment in which you live determines your health.

10 Benefits of the Sun:

  1. Vitamin D: Sun exposure is the main source of vitamin D for your body. This vitamin is essential for calcium absorption and bone strengthening, as well as for the proper functioning of the immune system.

  2. Improved mood: Sunlight stimulates the production of serotonin, known as the happiness hormone. This can help improve mood, reduce anxiety and alleviate symptoms of depression.

  3. Stimulation of the immune system: Sun exposure can strengthen your immune system, increasing the production of white blood cells and strengthening the body's defenses.

  4. Improved sleep: Sunlight also helps regulate our internal clock, known as the circadian rhythm. This can help improve sleep quality and reduce sleep disorders, such as insomnia - it is the midday sunlight that helps produce melatonin for the night!

  5. Benefits the cardiovascular system: Sunlight stimulates nitric oxide production in the skin, which can help dilate blood vessels, regulate blood pressure and improve overall cardiovascular health.

  6. Improved skin health: Sun exposure can help treat skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis, vitiligo and dermatitis. In addition, it can promote the production of vitamin E.

  7. Energy boost: Sun exposure can provide a boost of energy and vitality. Sunlight stimulates the production of melatonin, a hormone that also influences your energy levels and alertness.

  8. Hormone regulation: Sunlight can have a positive impact on hormone regulation, which is beneficial to your body's overall balance.

  9. Bone system strengthening: Naturally produced vitamin D is essential for calcium absorption and bone health. Adequate vitamin D levels can help prevent diseases such as osteoporosis.

  10. Stimulation of melanin production: Sun exposure stimulates the production of melanin, the pigment responsible for coloring the skin and internal organs. This helps tan the skin and provide natural protection, the "solar callus" a protective layer on your skin and becomes more resistant to its rays.

The best thing you can start doing for your health is to see sunrises and sunsets every day.

Start exposing yourself to the sun little by little, go out at sunrise and sunset. Each time you increase the time until you create the "solar callus". This takes time and varies from person to person and from place to place on the planet where you are. To protect yourself, do not block it with creams or oils, but rather make use of umbrellas and hats. Over time, you will become more resistant and so you will be able to enjoy its benefits much more. Along with the above, start protecting yourself from artificial blue light, use special glasses, get red light bulbs and infrared light lamps to illuminate and simulate sunlight, restrict the use of electronics, especially at night, and cover your skin to protect it from this irradiation.

There is a lot to be said on this subject and I am sure it could have generated some controversy because, at least in my case, it went against what I have been hearing all my life. In the end I believe that here more than believing is to try and live the experience of the hand of what science has proven.
